OUR STORY

How Colorado’s Driver-Owned Rideshare Took the Wheel

From airport parking-lot conversations to a city-recognized launch, Drivers Cooperative – Colorado is proof that when workers own the platform, the community moves further.

Overview

In the spring of 2022, a group of Colorado rideshare drivers began organizing around a simple belief: drivers should help build—and own—the platform they power. Guided by community partners and cooperative advocates, those early meetups formed the foundation for Drivers Cooperative – Colorado (DCC).

By mid-2023, the co-op formalized its structure, advanced driver leadership, and helped clear a path for locally owned TNCs to operate in Colorado. In 2024, DCC launched its rider and driver apps to the public and was recognized by the City and County of Denver for its economic and social impact.

Today, DCC continues to grow a democratic, immigrant-rooted, and community-backed alternative that keeps more value in the hands of the people who create it—drivers.
